Inauguration Ceremony of Hong Kong Reproductive Nurses and Counsellors Association

The impact of reproductive failure is not merely physical but also psychological. Most couples who seek fertility treatment at assisted reproductive centers have endured a painful emotional journey before deciding to undergo treatment. For many, fertility treatment represents their last hope in realizing their dream of becoming parents. However, once the treatment begins, they find themselves on an emotional roller coaster. One moment, couples are filled with excitement and feel closer to achieving their goal of having a baby. The next moment, they are overwhelmed by a sense of loss of control when faced with failed or poor treatment outcomes. Couples undergoing fertility treatment require psychological care to support them throughout the process. Unfortunately, there is currently no official platform in Hong Kong that specializes in reproductive counseling to address the specific needs of these couples.
Responding to the growing public demand, The Hong Kong Society for Reproductive Medicine (HKSRM) has established the Hong Kong Reproductive Nurses and Counsellors Association (HKRENCA) with the support of HKSRM. HKRENCA's primary objective is to promote collaboration and communication among nurses, social workers, counsellors, and psychologists involved in the field of reproductive medicine in Hong Kong. Additionally, HKRENCA aims to organize educational initiatives that enhance the professional growth of its members, enabling them to provide counselling care of the highest standard.
